Taz's First Word

I don't know how long this is going to last but at the moment Weggie and I are raising individual posts on this blog.
We arrived at around 6:30pm on Tuesday 1st April, after a series of three flights which felt like they'd never end.
We picked up our car and navigated our way to our hotel, the Hilton Metro Town. After checking in and dropping our bags off in our rooms we drove into the city in order to collect Jules who we knew had arrived earlier that afternoon.
Jules spent the night with us in our hotel room, where we ordered room service for dinner, as it was quite late by the time we'd collected Jules and returned.
The next morning after a complimentary breakfast in the Executive Suite in the Opal Lounge we decided that Jules might as well just stay in our hotel with us, rather than staying in his hostel which was located in Gas Town, the poorer side of Vancouver, which we had previously been warned against visiting at night.
After dropping Jules bags at our room we drove to the Capilano Suspension Bridge which was built in 1889 by George Grant Mackay. This tourist attraction, as well as having the Bridge, also sported a cliff side walk, a trout pond and a "Treetop Adventure" which was made from non-intrusive steel collars specially engineered to securely support the platforms and bridges without harming the trees.
After Capilano, we decided to have a picnic lunch at Lighthouse Park, another beautiful local, full of nature with paths meandering down to the parks namesake the Point Atkinson Lighthouse, which was originally built in 1874, then re-built in 1912.
After lunch we drove back to our hotel where Weggie and i lined up to register and collect out tickets for the Convention, then partook of the free hor-deuvers for dinner.
